For Buyers
Before Meeting
- Review the seller's profile, ratings, and verification badges
- Research market prices to ensure the deal is realistic
- Be wary of prices that seem too good to be true
- Ask for additional photos or video if listing photos seem limited
During the Meetup
- Meet in a public place with good lighting and foot traffic
- Bring a friend or family member if possible
- Tell someone where you're going and when you expect to return
- Meet during daylight hours when possible
Device Verification
- Phones: Check IMEI at Settings > About Phone, verify at imei.info
- iPhones: Verify iCloud lock is removed, check battery health
- Laptops: Boot up, test all ports, verify no password lock
- Test all functions: camera, speakers, buttons, charging
For Sellers
Creating Safe Listings
- Be accurate about device condition - overstatement leads to disputes
- Remove all personal data before selling
- Remove all account locks (iCloud, Google, etc.)
- Take clear, well-lit photos showing any defects
Safe Payment Practices
- Accept cash (verified in person) or use our escrow service
- Never accept checks, money orders, or wire transfers
- Be wary of "overpayment" scams
- For high-value items, consider using escrow for added protection
